REVIEW: DARK SEXY KNIGHT (MODERN FAIRYTALE) BY KATY REGNERY
Dark Sexy Knight by Katy Regnery
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Upon first look I was not impressed. Colt's sarcasm was off putting and aggravating. Verity was too naive and trusting. That did not bode well in my opinion. However, as I started to delve deeper I started to get what the author was doing. Ms. Regnery was building up to the meat of the story and boy was it hearty. Verity's doe eyed innocence started to grow on me when it became obvious how devoted she was to her brother's well-being. Often at the expense of her own. Colt was an array of contradictions. It was hard to predict his actions from one moment to the next. What it boiled down to is that he was a lost soul with a good heart and hid it all behind an acidic personality. The seriousness of the story was balanced out by the absurdity of the references to Camelot (dinner theater). Had I known how it all would end, I would have never doubted the direction of the story. Beauty can come from darkness. Not your average love story but it awed me and humbled me in so many ways.

REVIEW: HOT CHOCOLATE BY CHARLOTTE DE PACE
Hot Chocolate by Charlotte De Pace
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Hot Chocolate has all the makings an old school romance. Ms. De Pace is a new author to me but she understands what appeals and what doesn't. Although not as modern a romance as I would normally read, she got her point across.
