ENCOUNTERS IN DISGUISE (THE SIGNS) BY CATERINA PASSARELLI

Release Date: May 2, 2019

SYNOPSIS

Dating in this decade is not for the faint of heart.

From going on a date with a guy secretly lusting after my best friend to one where I nearly died in Central Park … I've been there, done that.

And I'm over it!

Trying to shift my focus to my career as a high school psychologist proves difficult when I come head-to-head with a student’s rude uncle.

He has an old money arrogance, refuses to back down, and, the worst part, he’s handsome and chasing after my attention. But dating him is strictly prohibited at Riverside Academy.

In an effort to find some hope between love and losing my career, I agree to meet my coworker’s mysterious aunt for relationship guidance.

And that’s how I end up asking a higher power for a sign: bees. Will those bees bring sweetness or sting harder than I ever imagined?

***Encounters In Disguise is book 2 in The Signs Series - a series of interconnected standalones. You can start from Eve’s journey or read Juliette’s in book 1, Fortunate Encounters.

Ps: no bees were harmed in the making of this novel! When you start to see them everywhere, the author is not to be blamed. ;)

Encounters In DisguiseEncounters In Disguise by Caterina Passarelli

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It's hard to keep a straight face or a heavy heart when a Passarelli novel is close at hand. With a sense of humor that won't quit and irresistible characters that touch the heart, it's easy to see why Encounters in Disguise is a MUST HAVE. Less than perfect proves to be just the right fit for my favorites shelf.

QUICK QUOTES

As I walk away, Batman grabs my arm, twirls me around, and slams his mouth onto mine.

I should slap this fool across the face, but I don’t. Instead, I kiss him deeper and harder. He tastes better than a sugary dessert. He pulls me in and cradles the back of my head with one hand.

I stop in my tracks, which is a terrible idea. A wet puddle on the ground causes my flip-flops to slip and sends me flying into the air. Just as I’m bracing my body to land on my big ol’ booty, a pair of strong arms catches me. Now I’m leaning up against a firm, wet chest.

My heart rate picks up. I can’t seem to pull my eyes away. When I finally do look away, I stare entirely too long at his lush lips before blushing.

“You can put me down now,” I whisper, trying to find my missing voice.

Aunt Edie goes over to a desk and pulls out a velvet pouch. She walks back to the coffee table in front of me and dumps the contents of the bag onto the table—crystals.

“The best thing we can do is ask the Universe,” Aunt Edie says, taking a seat in a chair opposite me on the other side of the table.

“What will that do?”

I’m a total beginner at all of this. And by “this” I mean asking for help in general, not just with “the universe” or whatever she’s talking about.

“Sometimes letting a little divine inspiration into your life can help you make clearer decisions on your path.”

My phone vibrates, indicating a new text message.

Juliette: How did everything go? See any signs yet?

Signs.

It all comes flashing back to me in a bit of a haze—I got stoned with Juliette’s aunt and asked to see bees if I should give James another chance. What was I thinking?

Let’s hope Riverside doesn’t conduct any random drug tests.

And let’s hope the bees keep their distance.

Is it too late to ask to see butterflies or puppies?
