He's supposed to help me get revenge, but all I want to do is get him naked.

Emma

I lost my high-powered legal career and my boss-slash-boyfriend to one of my clients.

It's hard not to hold a grudge, particularly since he destroyed me to conceal his white collar crimes. Worse, his new girlfriend is a social media influencer who's flooding the internet with their supposed happiness. It doesn't help that I've moved back in with my eccentric mother and am pretending to enjoy redecorating her mansion.

I end up telling my new brother-in-law all about my problems over a flask of whiskey after our siblings' wedding. He looks like trouble and talks like it too, so I'm not surprised when he tells me the only way to get over such a slight is to get even.

What does shock me is that he wants to help.

Seamus
I've never been much good for anyone, so I figure I might as well be a little bad for a good cause.

Emma's a strong woman who's forgotten her strength. I'd like to remind her of her power. And, sure, I'd like to do other things, too, but even I know better than to seduce my own sister-in-law. My sister is married to her brother, so any bad decisions we make will be impossible to escape.

Still...something tells me it would be worth it.

REVIEWTHE LOVE DESTROYERS (UNLUCKY IN LOVE) BY ANGELA CASELLA

The Love Destroyers (Unlucky in Love #4)

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Don't get mad, get even, just make sure not to bring your heart into the equation. The Love Destroyers takes that advice and throws it out the window. Casella has penned another, cunningly, endearing, showstopper. From funny to heartbreaking, Emma and Seamus take emotions on a wild ride. Addiction is the name of the game and Destroyers holds the winning hand.

EXCERPT

Seamus bends over the hole and lowers his arm inside, moving slowly and with purpose so as not to frighten the little kitten.

There’s such gentleness in the movement—something I wouldn’t have expected from a man like him, and emotion clogs my throat as he lifts the little cat out. It’s small and fuzzy and filthy, covered in dust and probably asbestos and who knows what else. It’s a miracle that she’s alive.

I go to take the kitten from him, and he holds her to his chest.

Smirking at me, he says, “Not so fast. I want shared custody.”

“Excuse me,” I say, putting a hand to my hip. “Shadow does not come from a broken home.”

“How traditional of you. But I’ll be going for 50-50 custody.”

I raise my eyebrows at him. “And who’s your lawyer?”

“You. You’re going to have a real fight with yourself over this one.”

A warm fondness fills me up, making me woozy. I don’t want to like him like this, but only my skin is stone, and he’s already gotten under it. I like that he wants to do this together,  even if it makes no sense since we neither live together nor are a couple.

“Do you honestly want to share her?”

He holds my gaze and nods. “Yes, but that might be the concussion talking. I’ve never had a pet.”

“I ki//ed a succulent.”

He raises the little kitten up in his arm. “You, Shadow, are probably screwed. I’m guessing getting sprung from that wall was the worst thing that ever happened to you.”

Meet Angela Casella:

Angela Casella lives in Asheville, North Carolina in an almost-one-hundred-year-old house with her daughter, two dogs, and an ever-changing number of fish. She worked as a developmental editor for years, both as a freelancer and at Random House in NYC before she started writing (inspired by her friend and frequent co-author Denise Grover Swank!). Now, it's become an addiction, and she'd rather not be cured, thank you very much.

She comes from a loud Italian American family, so she basically has a phD in bickering...er...banter.
