My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I found it to be so sweet the lengths Alexander went to in order to convince Marissa of his devotion and sincerity. He went old school romantic on her. Need not such may more than that. I am a sucker for a sensitive man.

BOOK 2: ONE LAST PROMISE BY SYDNEY BRISTOW
Damon Durant is not your average bad boy; sure, he has a wicked smile that flaunts an unpredictable nature and more than a hint of danger, but if growing up shuffled from one dysfunctional foster family to another has taught him anything it’s that love is hard to come by. So when he flirts with a sexy, young restaurateur named Kelsey Lawford, he can’t help but think that he’s finally found the one.
When it comes to romance, Kelsey has always trusted her heart, and it has led to more than a bit of heartache and regret. Now she’s ready to concentrate on what she wants twenty years down the road, instead of twenty minutes into the future. So when she banters with a romance novelist who exudes enough blistering sex appeal to leave her breathless, Kelsey ignores her feelings. Because if her past has taught her anything, it’s that men like Damon can’t be trusted, especially when she learns that this irresistible man has left a trail of broken hearts in his wake.
Kelsey wants to trust the longing Damon evokes in his books and the adorable relationship he shares with his cute Beagle, thinking there’s more to the Harley-riding bad boy everyone says is only out for one thing. But will it be enough to convince Kelsey to overlook her past and trust a man that everyone says can’t be trusted?

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Damon was a paradox. He presented this bad boy image but felt things deeply. Kelsey has always worn her heart on her sleeve. This has caused her a lot of heartbreak. Her decision to harden her heart and pursue her dreams is her way of coping. What I thought was a wonderful twist is that outwardly these two characters seemed to have nothing in common. However the inner struggles they faced and were working through made them perfect for each other. A pleasant surprise from a new discovery.

One More Chance by Sydney Bristow
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
The story started off well. I understood the direction of the story liked the characters and was looking forward to more. Scott has used all the heartache of his past in launching a successful singing and songwriting career. Ashley also had success in her professional life but in my opinion she seemed to be drifting. I don't think she was sure of herself or what she wanted out of life. In all honesty I think Scott deserved better. I was sympathetic to all these two people had faced but I did not really feel a connection with the story.
