THE FIX-UP BY TAWNA FENSKE

Release DateDecember 14, 2015

SYNOPSIS

Uncovering this sexy geek’s charm is easy. Keeping her hands off of him is impossible.

While he may look like the love child of a movie starlet and an NFL linebacker, Ben Langley has the people skills of a half-drowned porcupine. Why socialize when there are chemistry labs and bad sci-fi flicks? If he has any hope of taking the helm as CEO of the family business, Ben needs an image makeover. Pronto.

Enter Holly Colvin, owner of First Impressions public relations and branding firm, and the woman who just saved Ben from the clutches of an over-attentive sales clerk. Holly’s rebranded hundreds of companies in her career, but she’s never rebranded a person. The guy clearly needs help, though, and she’s just the woman for the job.

With the clock ticking for them both, Holly and Ben face off over wardrobe malfunctions and business jargon that sounds a lot sexier than it should. But can Holly make Ben into the man he thinks he should be without losing the man she’s starting to love?

REVIEW:   THE FIX-UP BY TAWNA FENSKE

The Fix UpThe Fix Up by Tawna Fenske

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ben Langley is such a genuine soul that it was hard not to fall in love. Adorably shy, socially awkward and with a genius that is unquestionable. However, somewhere along the way he allowed his insecurity to control him. Backhanded comments from family and friends made him aware that he was different and his tender heart started to break. Holly is a smart, ambitious business woman. On the verge of losing it all. Following her heart cost her dearly in the love department, wrecked her self-esteem and may cost her the business she loves. In order to save it she has to take a chance on a new client. Too bad he makes her want more than just a business relationship.

I received an ARC of The Fix-Up by Tawna Fenske in exchange for an honest review. I thought it was a cute read. Ms. Fenske tackled self-esteem issues in a sweet, yet subtle way. She did so with such class that the lesson did not come across preachy. She also centered that lesson around the male lead learning to listen to his heart. With a little help from fate, he snagged his angel on the first impression.

MALIBU SECRETS (MALIBU SIGHTS #2) BY MK MEREDITH

Release DateDecember 14, 2015

SYNOPSIS

Every girl has a secret (or two)...

On the verge of losing the Malibu home she inherited from her great-aunt, Addi Dekker is completely failing to prove to her family she can make it as a writer. Not exactly how a girl proves her independence. If she doesn’t want to give up her dream and go back to the soul-sucking job she just left, Addi has to swallow her dislike of Hollywood and rent the house out to the sexy-as-hell film producer.

And maybe (shhhh!) save money by secretly living there, too.

Roque Gallagher is pouring his heart and savings into his first independent film to make the industry acknowledge him for his talent and not just his family name. Addi’s home is perfect for the shoot, but she’s far too tempting. He’s never been able to handle work and a relationship, and this is the film of a lifetime. Between a shrinking budget and his director quitting, the last thing he needs is a sexy-as-sin tease like Addi. And he has a feeling there's something she's hiding...

Malibu Secrets (Malibu Sights, #2)Malibu Secrets by M.K. Meredith

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I had the chance to read the first book in the Malibu Sights series Malibu Betrayals back in July. Although I thought the story was good the twists and turns proved a little confusing. Malibu Secrets is more my speed. Ms. Meredith has worked her magic once again. Addi and Rogue give the story sparkle, heat and likability. Seeking to prove there is more to them than the family name, each has chosen a difficult road but refuse to give up on their dreams. The sacrifices they make, the secrets kept and emotions involved make this a journey worth taking. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

SLAMDUNKED BY LOVE (ONE-ON-ONE #2) BY JAMIE WESLEY

Release Date:  December 14, 2015

SYNOPSIS

Revenge is supposed to be sweet…

Caitlin Monroe is ready to confront her past. Years ago, her father ditched her mother for the NBA, leaving her pregnant and alone. Now he’s a big-shot coach, and Caitlin’s ready to take the so-called “family man” down. But on her way to the team gala, her car dies, and it’s her father’s sexy new star player who comes to her rescue.
Brady Hudson wants nothing more than to put his past behind him and concentrate on winning the championship for his new team. But when he finds himself the recipient of unwanted attention—attention that could destroy his career—he introduces the beautiful woman he saved on the side of the road as his "girlfriend."

Brady needs to focus on his job. And Caitlin isn’t about to date an athlete whose career is riding on her father—though he is a convenient way to get the dirt she needs. But sometimes love has other ideas, and it’s not long before their pretend relationship becomes a liability neither can resist…

REVIEW:  SLAMDUNKED BY LOVE (ONE-ON-ONE #2) BY JAMIE WESLEY

Slamdunked By LoveSlamdunked By Love by Jamie Wesley

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A long awaited confrontation. A surprise complication. I found this sport themed read to be a slam dunk and I don't even like basketball. Caitlin is looking for a little payback and ends up discovering that everything happens for a reason. I received an ARC of Slamdunked By Love in exchange for an honest review. Caitlin is a high voltage character. She plunges into situations before she has a chance to think her actions through. She is not a vindictive person but she has allowed her feelings of abandonment to rule her life. Hopefully she'll discover the error of her ways before it becomes too late. Jamie Wesley wrote a story that is an amusing look at learning to forgive as maturity takes hold.
