HAPPY RELEASE WEEK: CHRISTMAS COMES TO MAIN STREET (BRIAR CREEK) BY OLIVIA MILES

CHRISTMAS COMES TO MAIN STREET (BRIAR CREEK) BY OLIVIA MILES

Release Date:  September 27, 2016

SYNOPSIS

The mistletoe is out, and the gloves are off . . .

'Tis the worst season to be single, but Kara Hastings won't let a little Christmas funk spoil the festive season. Sure, running her own bakery is a little harder than she expected, but she can handle it. And she'll prove it to a certain infuriatingly handsome, bossy Big City guy. She may be sugar and spice, but she can kick his butt twice.

Nate Griffin is in Briar Creek only for the holidays, and he refuses to fall for the whole "small town, candy cane-scented Christmas Wonderland" thing. He's more interested in the fresh-faced cookie chef who always knows exactly how to get under his skin. So when Nate challenges Kara in the town's big holiday contest, it's not just the competition that starts to heat up. If he's not careful, Kara won't just melt his icy resolve against a small-town Christmas . . . she'll melt his heart too.

ARC Review: Christmas Comes to Main Street (Briar Creek) by Olivia Miles

Anything he can do, I can do better ...

With a business to run, Kara has no time for arrogant and infuriating distractions. Her pride won't allow her to surrender to self-doubt or ask for help. It certainly won't allow her to be bested by an outsider with a superiority complex. Nate has a massive ego and rather large chip on his shoulder. Olivia Miles, generates major sparks with Christmas Comes to Main Street. A battle of the sexes mixed in with loveable holiday charm makes Kara and Nate, a tempting treat for any sweet tooth. Briar Creek is a great place to spend some down time.

TOP 5 HOLIDAY TRADITIONS

There are so many little things I enjoy over the holidays that have become traditions, but to narrow it down to just a few I’d say:

Elf on the Shelf – We started this when my daughter was about three, and she is now seven but she still thinks that elf is real. I made the mistake of shoving it in a drawer after last season and then, forgetting I had done so, opening that same drawer a few months later…in front of my daughter. Let’s just say that my imagination was on overdrive explaining that one.

Zoo Lights – We live in Chicago and the zoo in our city park is lit up every season. It’s great to sip mulled wine and walk around.

Making a special dessert we can look forward to eating on just this one occasion – historically a trifle but now spice cake.

Holiday High Tea – My daughter especially enjoys this holiday. We choose a different hotel each year and spend the afternoon listening to carolers, sipping tea, and eating delicious treats!

Making ornaments – I don’t think there is anything sweeter than a homemade ornament, especially one made by my daughter. They bring back such special memories!
