No, romance does not always consist of starry eyes and sad goodbyes but The Hook Up balances the good and the bad into a welcome surprise.

The Duke of Defiance is an adorable tale that speaks of hope, courage and second chances in the face of some heartbreaking obstacles. Just like Jake and Jessica, we all have our make or break moments. Some are terrifying, others are heartbreaking and then there are the ones that can lead to something wonderful. Jake's life defining moment left him broken, bruised and with no where to go but up. It was a long hard road but it lead the boy football star to make some real grown up decisions. Jessica's life changing moment took a lot longer but boy was it a doozy. The high school it girl with the mean spirit and the uppity attitude, now needs the help of the boy she carelessly cast aside. Payback is a *****. Ms. Robert uses realistic situations, smart dialogue and great characters to get her point across.

Daisy Prescott sets out to make readers laugh but ends up delivering more than she or her readers could have ever imagined. Small Town Scandal has elements of humor to keep it light, but it also pulls out the big guns and delivers a lesson on humility and judgmental people. Carter is the man with a life that borders on irony, but never has a heart been more true. Ashley is the woman whose peers have branded her with a scarlet "A" despite never having given her a chance. The plotline is a bit obvious and the emotions tend to get a bit intense, but Ms. Prescott always tones the intensity down with a bit of satirical wit and a great deal of sincerity.
