With the heart of a warrior and the spirit of an adventurer Will Repton has faced calamities others can only imagine. When his last one ended tragically with him the sole survivor he returned home to a hero's welcome with a heavy heart. I received an ARC of In Search of Scandal in exchange for an honest review. Susanne Lord does a beautiful job in presenting a man questioning his value. Will came home a changed man. His physical limitations and awareness of his surroundings are more pronounced. He may be home but he feels like the odd man out. He and Charlotte were magic together. She opens his eyes to the fact that in life everyday is a new experience and no matter where you end up someone always has your back. This was a serious story that was laid out with sensational skill and characters that are entrancing.

One Rogue at a Time by Jade Lee

My Fair Lady has scored a regency makeover. Jade Lee has smartly put her own spin on a literary classic. Her innovation and skill has netted a story that has subtle similarities that have a modern feel but all the poise and mystery of regency era romance. I received an ARC of One Rogue at a Time in exchange for an honest review. Behind the polished demeanor Bramwell is well of secrets. Charm and etiquette are the tools he used to hide the pain of past hurts and hidden talents he has picked up over the years. Maybelle is his equal in that she is searching for acceptance just like her, she just pursues it differently. What I liked about this novel is that there is always something new to discover around the corner. I found One Rogue at a time to be a great way to past the time and would recommend to any fan of classic historical romance.

How to Seduce a Scot by Christy English

My feelings on How To Seduce A Scot were all over the place. There were areas that had me in stitches. Alexander's approach to finding his sister a mate is priceless. His opinions on handling matchmaking mamas, marriage minded ladies and London society in general was chauvinistic. Where the problems came in for me is that some of the characters could have been probed into more deeply. I also thought that the momentum of the story itself was not very steady. The main characters: Catherine and Alexander were likable but I do not think that there match was a love one. I received an ARC of How to Seduce a Scot in exchange for an honest review. This novel is the first I have read by Ms. English and I found the story to be delightful.

I was ecstatic when I found out that Samantha Chase was releasing a new Montgomery Brothers novel. This family is such a joy that it is no hardship to visit time and again. I'll Be There is Zach's story. Zach has been successful at whatever he touches. His personality, focus, looks and even his family name has opened doors but his ambition is the key to all of his triumphs. When larger than life Zach is forced down to earth after an accident he is anything but happy. Gabriella is a formidable match for Zach. She has worked hard to accomplish her achievements and has managed to do so despite the odds. Gabriella is no pushover. She speaks her mind. With I'll be there Samantha Chase wrote a story full of triumph but she also introduced two characters afraid of letting anyone too close for fear of appearing weak. The lesson I took away from I'll Be There is that showing emotion is not weak. Emotions are a part of the maturity process that leads to a well rounded happy life. I received an ARC of I'll be There in exchange for an honest review. 10+ Stars.
