FRIENDS AND FORTUNE COOKIES BY ELIZABETH BEMIS
Can a woman whose sworn off dating save her career... by dating? The much anticipated second book in The Mendoza Sisters trilogy of the Sudden Falls series, is a romantic comedy about love, laughter, and the enduring bonds of friendship and sisterhood.
When columnist Grace Mendoza is handed the dream assignment of a “Dating for Dummies” series, she knows it’s her ticket to national syndication. Too bad that when it comes to dating, she’s the biggest dummy of all. Jilted at the altar, abandoned by her best guy friend, Grace is about to hang up her keyboard for good until said best-friend lands back in town. He OWES her, and she’s determined to collect.
Rehabber Joe Baker is good at fixing things, but he can’t fix his emotions for Grace. When he realized he’d fallen for the quirky columnist right around the time he’d had to give her the bad news about her bastard of a bridegroom, he knew he had to split town, fast. Now he’s back and stuck on a job that may make or break his business. He can’t escape—especially when Grace demands that he tag along as a watch-dog for one disastrous date after another, all in the name of giving her avid readers what they want. Joe may be Grace’s biggest fan, but all he wants… is a reunion with her.
REVIEW: FRIENDS AND FORTUNE COOKIES BY ELIZABETH BEMIS
Friends and Fortune Cookies by Elizabeth Bemis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Friends and Fortune Cookies gave me tingles. From the start the dynamics of the relationship was obvious. Clueless Grace is so wrapped up in herself she almost misses out on the best thing in her life. Joe let emotions and fear cause him to mess up his relationship with his best friend. Now he wants to make things right. It was not hard to fall for either of these characters. They were both so adorable it was hard not to. Elizabeth Bemis is a new author for me and if Friends and Fortune Cookies is anything like the rest of her work this was a great introduction. Looking forward to more of her stories in the future. I received a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.
