UP ALL NIGHT (LOVE YOU LIKE A LOVE SONG) BY MICHELE CALLAHAN
Release Date: March 30, 2016
Once upon a time Mitchell Walker fell in love...and trusted the wrong woman. That one mistake nearly cost him his future. His older brother, Derek, stepped in to take the fall. Mitchell has never forgiven himself for that day, and vowed to never trust another woman.
Now he is a young, successful surgeon. Women throw themselves at his feet, and he gives them what they want, as long as they don't ask for his heart. The strategy is working well for him until he meets freelance reporter Jessica Finley.
She's smart, she makes him laugh, and she sees right through his playboy persona. When Mitchell finds out she has links to the past he's tried so hard to forget, his life implodes, and Jessica is at the center of the detonation.
Jessica's fire may burn hot enough to keep him up all night, but will her love be strong enough to burn away the ghosts of his past and melt the ice around his heart?

Up All Night by Michele Callahan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
A deeply moving story. Mitchell had made some choices in his life that he regrets and feels guilty for. At the time he did not realize the impact that one wrong move would have on his future and that of his family. Vowing never to end up in a similar situation, he safeguards himself emotionally by not letting anyone get to close. That is until he finally meets the one woman who can break through his barriers and see the man inside. Up All Night is a story that reiterates the theme of forgiveness. Mitchell made mistakes but in order to move on from them, he had to stop running and face them head on. That was part of his healing process. Falling in love is not easy. No one is perfect, but the challenge is accepting the good with the bad. Food for thought.

A childhood promise has Chance Walker picking up a guitar once again. Sure, he's been busy growing up, finishing college, and even law school. He made a promise to his dying mother and he’s determined to keep it. While his guitar playing dreams were big when he was a kid, his skill is rusty and he hires Erin Michaelson to bring music back into his life. Not only is she incredibly talented, she's one of the sexiest women he’s ever met. It's hard to focus on correct finger position when her sweet scent threatens to drive him out of his mind.
Less than twenty-four hours after his first lesson he sees her again, but this time she’s on stage using another name and seducing an entire audience of men. He played the gentleman card once, and it got him nowhere. This time, all bets are off and he’ll do whatever it takes to keep her. A single, sizzling backstage kiss will change both of their lives forever, because Chance soon realizes that Erin is not just an itch, she’s an obsession that he refuses to live without.
Erin Michaelson spends her days teaching guitar and her nights on stage as her sexy alter-ego, Eva James. Music is her dream, her passion. All she wants is to say goodbye to a lifetime of scraping by, working two jobs, and paying for past mistakes. When a major record label exec hears her band play, she gets her big break. At the center of this story is a young man who has matured from an optimistic child to a determined young man. His drive to become a lawyer has caused his ability to dream to be put on the back burner but a tragedy in the family brings about a shift in his priorities. His mother always encouraged him to be the best at whatever he chose to do in his life and when she dies he remembers his promise and sets out to follow through. A refresher course in guitar playing leads him to hire Erin but he gets more than he planned on. Erin is a survivor. Her hard life has made her a woman that is passionate at whatever she sets her mind to. The biggest impact she has on Chance is she teaches him how to dream again and he teaches her how to love. I received a copy of Crash and Burn in exchange for an honest review. There are people who we meet at the right time that help us on the quest of becoming a better person. Erin and Chance needed each other. Crash and Burn is a story about never giving up on your dreams. I thought it was a wonderful story full of steamy scenes and heartbreaking plot twists.

Alone With You by Michele Callahan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Youth- a time when we have a naive outlook of what life should be. We enter the world with a blindspot to heartbreak and rejection. In our minds eye we are invincible to all the negativity and can accomplish anything we set our minds to. A great viewpoint to have but does not always proved to be accurate and when the blinders are removed and reality intrudes into that bubble we've built it hurts a lot. Alone With You is an accurate depiction of the simplicity of young love and how maturity and life changes. It is a journey full of emotion that proves painful at times but Ms. Callahan gets straight to the heart. Jake and Claire through the process of getting older have to face growing apart and finding out who they are separately before they can find their way back to each other. I received a copy of Alone With You in exchange for an honest review. My first time reading this author and enjoyed every minute of it.
