Bridesmaid Blues by Boone Brux Excerpt

After a few minutes, both men exited a room at the back of the store. The breath slammed to a screeching halt in her chest. The white shirt pulled tight across his pecs, accentuating the vee of tanned skin and sun-kissed hair. Her mouth went dry.

The guy could wear a paper bag and look great. So flippin’ unfair.

“Hey.” Jamie’s blue eyes leveled on her. “Have you been waiting long?”

“Just got here.” She repressed the sigh threatening to escape. To the untrained eye, the tux didn’t appear to need any adjusting, the material hugging his best features. “Looks good.” He turned toward the wall of multiple mirrors and examined his image. “Really?” “The cut is perfect for you.” Adam ran his hands across Jamie’s upper back, smoothing the material. “With a little adjustment it will be perfect.”

“Good.” Jamie tugged on his sleeves, looking slightly awkward.

“Where did you get all those muscles?” She shifted and crossed her legs.

“What do you mean?” His brow pinched. “I always had these.”

“Trust me—” She paused for effect. “You didn’t.” “Are you saying I was wimpy?” He scowled at her. “Not wimpy—really.” As long as she’d known him he’d never been wimpy, but she wasn’t going to tell him that. “Just not as buff.”

He grunted and refocused on his reflection.

“I think we need to take it in right here a bit.” Adam knelt and fiddled with the seam at Jamie’s outer thigh. The material pulled tight across his rear end. “Maybe a quarter inch.”

Her gaze zeroed in on Jamie’s tight buns. Yeah, those were nice—and always had been. The memory of wrapping her legs around him and gripping his firm cheeks sent a flood of heat through her body.

Stop it. “What do you think?” Adam looked at her. She held up her thumb and index finger. “Maybe a little more.” He scowled at her for a few seconds before tugging the material tighter.

“How about that?” She motioned for a bit more and with a pinched-lipped smirk, Adam complied. “I can see you in the mirror, ya know,” Jamie said. “And if you make these any tighter everybody at the wedding is going get an eyeful.”

Busted.

“I agree.” Adam gave Dani a gentle but chastising look before turning back to Jamie. “You need to be comfortable.” “Okay, but you’ll be disappointing a lot of women at the wedding.” Her job was to keep him occupied, not flirt. “And some men.” Jamie’s gaze narrowed, but she returned her sweetest smile, ignoring the way her body hummed with awareness at being so near to him.

Blame It on the Kiss by Robin Bielman Excerpt

“I think game time’s over,” Honor said.

“I think the only game that comes to my mind that’s played in a closet with a beautiful girl has got to do with kissing. Seven Minutes in Heaven or something like that. And since we are in the wedding party, it’s our duty to follow through, right?”

He thought she was beautiful?

Tingles swept over her lips and down the backs of her arms.

“Am I right?”

She cleared her throat and told her body to ignore any more tingles, quivers, flutters, shivers, trembles, prickles, or shudders he might instigate. Bryce belonged to her best friend, even if she wasn’t here to claim him. “Yes, it’s a kissing game. But the rules say one minute.”

“So you planned to kiss the guy that found you in here?”

“Yes.”

“On the mouth?” he asked, surprised.

“Yes. But no tongue.”

The small space between them dissolved as he canted his head down to talk in her ear. “I think it’s our obligation to play, Honor. It’s just a game, so can I kiss you?”

YES! Her traitorous body shouted as his husky voice made her toes curl. Then, like he had some magic mojo, she put her arms around his neck. Her hands should not have been anywhere but at her sides, dammit. She reasoned the dark had something to do with it. Because she couldn’t really see him, she could pretend he was Theo James and this was her sixty seconds of pretend boyfriend kissing.

“We shouldn’t.”

“I know.”

Maybe it was his agreement. Maybe it was her earlier desire to break her dry spell, to not leave the closet until she’d gotten a kiss. Whatever it was, she found herself pushing aside her guilt and wanting to finish the game she’d agreed to play.

“Okay,” she said.

“You sure?”

God, did he have to be so careful with her? She touched her nose to his. “Yes.”

“Plan on one minute in heaven, Honor.”

 About the book:

The one guy she shouldn’t want…

Honor Mitchell has lived with guilt and regret for a long time, so when she promises to do the things on her dying best friend’s wish list, she’s determined to follow through and do something right for a change. But when she’s thrown together for wedding duties with the one man who complicates her vow—just by looking at him—she has to put her faith in Bryce Bishop’s pledge to help her, no strings attached.

Bryce’s near one-night stand with his ex-girlfriend’s best friend a few months ago might have been a mistake, but helping the beautiful, free-spirited Honor with her promise isn’t. His trust in women is shot, but he can’t help but play his best man card to his advantage and help Honor tick off the items on his ex’s list, even if it puts him in a no-win situation. Because his assistance might get Honor what she wants, but suddenly being the do-good guy puts his plans—and heart—in serious jeopardy.

His Millionaire Maid by Coleen Kwan Excerpt

Joe cleared his throat. “Nice weather we’re having.”

She nodded. “Yeah, it’s beautiful today.”

Christ. They’d been reduced to discussing the weather, and all because of what had happened.

He turned to face her.

“Look, about last night. We have to put it behind us. We both did some stupid things—you dropping your towel, and me reacting like a…” He groped for the right description of the tremendous force that had gripped him last night, which was still heaving just beneath the surface. “A caveman.”

Yeah, as soon as he’d clapped eyes on Nina’s naked body, a primitive urge to ravish her had all but overpowered him. Only by stomping out of the room had he managed to control himself, but when she’d followed him to his office, he hadn’t been able to help himself kissing her, caressing her, and only a minor miracle had stopped him from taking her right there on his office desk.

“A caveman.” Nina’s lips curved into a small, delicious smile.

His groin stirred. He shook his head. “You’re doing it again.”

“Doing what?”

“You’ve got to stop this”—he flicked a finger between them—“this flirting.”

“I’m not flirting with you.” Indignation flared in her vivid blue eyes.

“You just gave me a coy smile and said ‘caveman’ in a breathy voice. That’s flirting.”

She swung her legs to the ground and sat up, her spine ramrod straight. “Sounds like wishful thinking on your part. I know when I’m flirting with a guy, and I damn well was not flirting with you. If I smiled at all when I said ‘caveman,’ it’s only because I was thinking what a good caveman you’d make, what with all that lovely, thick hair of yours and your broad shoulders and your big, muscly arms…” Her voice trailed off. She sucked in her lower lip, looking guilty. “Okay, I admit that last part was a bit flirty.”

Joe let out a groan. “For Christ’s sakes, woman. Can you please stop? I’m not made of stone, you know.”

Chuckling, she lined her legs together. “I promise to behave. As long as you do.” She took a sip of Coke.

He stared at her moistened lips, and the ache to suck the soda off her mouth corkscrewed his insides. “You’re bad for me, Nina. You make me want to do stupid things.”

“And you always do the smart thing?”

“I thought I did.”

About the book:

His new hire has a secret…

As far as Nina Beaumont is concerned, money ruins everything. Leave it to her wealthy family to screw up her professional life and her personal life. When she crashes and her car sinks, sending her identification and all her belongings spiraling into the watery abyss, Nina sees her chance to escape.

And stumbles into a job with the hottest man she’s ever met…as his maid.

Between running an inn, caring for his grandmother, and trying to keep the dirty-dealing Beaumont Corporation from stealing his land, Joe Farina’s plate is full. He doesn’t have time for romantic entanglements-especially not with the suspiciously bad maid he just hired, no matter how much he needs her…both in and out of his bed.

Screwing with her life is one thing, but Nina’s not about to let her family screw with Joe. That is, if she doesn’t lose him when he finds out who she really is.
