REVIEW:  PLAYING THE PERFECT BOYFRIEND (GONE HOLLYWOOD) BY JULIE PARTICKA

Playing the Perfect Boyfriend (Gone Hollywood, #3)Playing the Perfect Boyfriend by Julie Particka

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Bright lights, big city ...love triangle?

Julie Particka is known for her sexy stories. Though Playing the Perfect Boyfriend does not lack for heat, it is abundant in laughs and tackles some serious stereotyping. For instance, I thought it was great that the woman was not getting played as much as she was pulling the strings. Usually, it's the opposite. I also liked the hint of younger man, older woman. Another stereotype that is usually the other way around. I received Playing the Perfect Boyfriend in exchange for an honest review. It's not rocket science, it's great entertainment.

REVIEW:  STEALING HIS HEART (SHILLINGS AGENCY) BY JEN MCLAUGHLIN

Stealing His Heart (Shillings Agency, #2)Stealing His Heart by Diane Alberts

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A sexy thief has just met her match.

Stealing His Heart is smartly written, wickedly sexy and part of my favorite series. All pluses in my opinion. What appealed to me is that the author veered off in a direction that has not been explored much in romance. Thievery, blackmail is a new scenario for a second chance romance. In Tara, there is a woman doing a bad thing for all the right reasons. Her heart is in the right place, yet her actions are wrong none the less. Jake was a jerk for using their past to control her future. I was not his biggest fan but the heat these two ignited made up for the irritation I felt for Jake. Tara is no wilting flower and Jake is no puppy dog. Both are opinionated and determined. Stealing His Heart is the culmination of attitude, steam and humor. Hard not to be impressed.
