I guess it's fitting that Cord and Maisie are part of the Bourbonland series. A place where the liquor flows freely, history runs deep and emotions run high. When you have two strong characters, it's not an easy feat to keep them from overpowering each other or the story, yet Ms. Bramseth manages to steer clear of that pitfall. Maisie is a woman who is not afraid to fight for her beliefs and Cord is a man with a lust for battle and a thirst for doing what's right. Not only do they butt heads, they set off sparks. A Jennifer Bramseth character is a prime example of how to live one's truth. Out loud and super proud, at the head of the crowd.
