What I love most about reading Elise Faber is her ability to show the fragility of her characters without ever losing sight of their strengths. The Big Skate does that beautifully with Knox and Ivy. At first glance, she's a fighter who doesn't back down, he's a playboy that knows how to have a good time, yet dig a little deeper and the blinders come off and the heartache is exposed. From misunderstood to happily ever after is a tumultuous dance that is worth the missteps along the way.
