“Sutton?”

She looks up at me with glassy eyes. “Yeah?”

“Ready to show them this isn’t fake?”

Her blue eyes double in size with my words. “Are you sure?”

I nod and step closer to her. “Absolutely.”

I tip Sutton’s chin up, our eyes having the most intense, and fastest, silent conversation ever on record.

“Can I kiss you?”

“Are you sure?”

“With everything in me.”

And I do.

I pull her in and kiss her.

I don’t think about it. I don’t hesitate. I don’t entertain the guilt I’m sure I’m going to feel later. I just…kiss her.
