SYNOPSIS

He didn’t understand loyalty until she stripped it away…

Damian Stone was a distinguished member of the NYPD, on the fast-track to an FBI career until a crime syndicate ambush cost him his partner and his ambitions. Recruited by an elite security agency that leverages his hyper-protective instincts to shield notorious trial witnesses, Damian never met a charge he couldn’t safeguard.

Until her.

Alexa Volkov lived a privileged life, far from the messy underbelly of her father’s Russian mafia. As a crime boss daughter, she is in a unique position to collapse the organization from the inside out. Her plan to testify against the mob patriarch puts a bounty on her head that would tempt even the most trustworthy cop—especially one hell-bent on punishing her for the sins of her father.

But the safe house part of Damian’s protection plan is anything but safe. In a place where alliances are not what they seem and the most dangerous heat bearing down on them is the forbidden burn of seduction, the only thing more at risk than life is a lethal hit to the heart.

REVIEW:  IN SAFE HANDS (SAFE HOUSE UNIT) BY LESLIE NORTH

In Safe Hands (The Safe House, #1)In Safe Hands by Leslie North

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

In a world full of violence, revenge and secrets, one woman stood up and said no more. Was it smart? No. Courageous? Yes. It also proved to be a real turn on for the one man who could destroy her unstable house of cards. I received an ARC of In Safe Hands by Leslie North in exchange for an honest review. There is lots of conflict in this story. It's hard to tell who can be trusted. You have good people making stupid decisions based on emotion and crooked ones trying to protect themselves. Alexa proved to be a tough cookie facing anger from all directions and confronting her own mortality, she still found the strength to make right the wrongs of others. Throughout the story I bounced back and forth about my feelings for Damien. He made it so hard to like him. When he finally made the choice to listen to his conscience and not be fueled by his anger he became more tolerable. In Safe Hands is a fast paced and all over the place emotional story of bravery, redemption, temptation and emotion that will have a tight hold on you until the last page. A sexy love story. 4.5 of 5 stars.

Soldier of Love

SOLDIER OF LOVE (HOMETOWN HEROES) BY ALLIE BONIFACE

Release Date:  March 18, 2016

SYNOPSIS

Franny Thompson has owned a bed and breakfast in Lindsey Point for the last five years, ever since a family tragedy left her broken. Running The Hideaway has been good therapy, but this thirty-year old doesn’t have the slightest idea about dating, fashion, or men. When a lonely soldier comes to town in need of a place to live, she offers him an empty room to rent, never dreaming he’s about to change her world.

Heath Garrick has spent the last 17 years as an active duty solider, but when he retires from the Army, he finds himself plagued by PTSD and no place to call home, until he moves to Lindsey Point and Franny offers him a room. Franny is quirky and naive, everything he’s never wanted in a woman – and everything he might just need.

As Franny and Heath find comfort in each other’s friendship, a powerful attraction develops. But when a national magazine chooses The Hideaway for a makeover, they are thrust into the spotlight. For Franny, it’s a dream come true. For Heath, it’s the worst kind of trouble. Can two lonely souls help each other find love and hope again, or are some battle scars too deep ever to heal?

REVIEW:  SOLDIER OF LOVE (HOMETOWN HEROES) BY ALLIE BONIFACE

Soldier of Love (Hometown Heroes, #5)Soldier of Love by Allie Boniface

My rating: 4.5 of 5 stars

We all need inspiration. We all need hope. That voice in the back of our minds that tells us the difference between right or wrong. That shoulder to lean on when times get rough. Someone to love us despite the odds. Heath and Franny needed that human connection to help them mend body and spirit. Heath saw the worst of the worst and lived to tell about it but, did not emerge unscathed. His demons are buried deep within his mind from the memories he can't erase and the emotions he can't control. Franny has had her share of pain as well so she is his saving grace when he needs friendship. I received an ARC of Soldier of Love in exchange for an honest review. It's like cutting through the layers of an onion. There will be tears but the end reward makes it all worthwhile. 4.5 stars
