ARC Review: Celi - Bet (The Solomon Brothers) by Leslie North
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
The measure of a man is not counted by the possessions he acquires but the legacy he leaves behind. Words to live by, but often tossed by the wayside. The meaning behind those words are powerful but often misunderstood. Ms. North got it. The world is full of people like Dylan, who have much to offer but due to circumstance never get the chance. Through Celi - Bet, Leslie North uses fame, fortune, heartbreak, humour and a dose of reality to deliver a meaningful message. Live life to the fullest with an open heart, a giving spirit and empathy for others. The message may seem redundant but that doesn't make it any less important.
Don't miss the first book in this series

SYNOPSIS
Star quarterback Marcus Kingston lives and breathes football. He’s trusted his abilities and instincts to get him this far, but an injury last season nearly ended his career. When his coaches want him to wear biofeedback technology to analyze his game, Marcus thinks the idea is ridiculous. Plus, the mousy scientist behind the project knows nothing about sports, and she quickly gets under his skin. But with another QB waiting on the sidelines, Marcus can either agree to participate, or be benched—permanently.
Scientist Clare Wynifred values intellect above most things. With her brain constantly working, she has little interest in her appearance and zero interest in sports. She never imagined her wearable tech being used to improve someone’s game, but its success with the team could get her a military contract. Clare may be too late to save her brother, but her technology could save the lives of countless soldiers. She just has to make it work with the stubborn quarterback, and she’ll be one step closer to her goal.
Marcus and Clare butt heads at first, but their mutual attraction quickly grows. And yet, with everything to lose, it’s easy to ignore that together they might be able to go the distance.

REVIEW: WIRED (THE SOLOMON BROTHERS) BY LESLIE NORTH
Wired by Leslie North
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Success is not to be measured by the amount wins, but how the game is played. Clare and Marcus had a hard time figuring out in order to achieve their goals they needed each other. She had the knowledge, he had the skill combined with dedication that made them unstoppable. Wired is a different type of love story. Clare wants to make a difference and help others. Her motivation is her memories of her brother and her sadness at his loss. Marcus wants to prove injury won't slow him down and despite his better judgment must rely on the one thing he despises, technology. Wired is an empathetic journey of hope and determination. Clare didn't just sit back and grieve, she devoted all her energy to give others hope in the face of adversity. That's an example of a fighter and what makes this character in my opinion a true hero.
