REVIEW:  SAY YOU'RE MINE (SHILLINGS AGENCY # 5)  BY DIANE ALBERTS

Say You're MineSay You're Mine by Diane Alberts

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Steven had the key to his own happiness all along. He just had to unlock the door and let love in. Say You're Mine by Diane Alberts is a friends to lovers story. I have read many of those over the years but that does not take away any of the charm of this one. I received an ARC of this read in exchange for an honest review. First, let me say I am in love with each and every character that Ms. Alberts has allowed me to meet through her Shillings Agency series. Men with attitude find a new start after career ending traumas force them to make changes. Not only does she tackle the struggles that men who have faced war deal with returning to civilian life but she puts a microscope on how relationships with family and friends are affected. Say You're Mine is Lauren and Steven's story. Lauren's friendship with Steven has always been the most central part of her universe. Steven is forced to leave behind a career he loves due to events that were beyond his control. Never the less he blames himself. How would I describe Say You're Mine? When the chips are down, friends always have your back. Wonderful.

CRASHED OUT (MADE IN JERSEY #1)  BY TESSA BAILEY

Release Date:  December 7, 2015

SYNOPSIS

A sexy category romance from Entangled's Brazen imprint...

His inspiration. His torment. And his temptation...

Jasmine Taveras is the reason Sarge Purcell grabbed his six-string and bailed the hell out of New Jersey four years ago. She's the fuel for every song he's ever written-each one laced with bitter, hard-edged, hungry lust. Now, with his hugely successful band on temporary hiatus, Sarge is determined to prove to Jasmine that this "kid" turned into every inch the man she's always needed...

Men are slim pickings for a single factory girl in Hook, New Jersey...until tall, broad-shouldered hotness walks-or rather storms-into Jasmine's life. Sarge's return shouldn't affect her this way. He's her best friend's much younger kid brother, and the kind of rough, gritty, sexiness Jasmine has no right to taste for herself. Even if he lets her.

But lust is a blinding, insatiable force. And when it crashes, it will take both Sarge and Jasmine down with it...

REVIEW: CRASHED OUT (MADE IN JERSEY #1)  BY TESSA BAILEY

Crashed OutCrashed Out by Tessa Bailey

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I am ashamed to admit that I went into this story determined not to give it a chance. The stereotypical younger man, older woman scenario turned me off. Yet as I began to learn some of the back history of the relationship between Sarge and Jasmine the concept the author was going for came into focus. I mean Ms. Bailey did write a steamy read that is equal parts obsession and repression. I received an ARC of Crashed Out in exchange for an honest review.

REVIEW:  HIS TO TAKE (OUT OF UNIFORM # 3.5) BY KATEE ROBERT

His to TakeHis to Take by Katee Robert

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Ms. Robert is a gifted author that can write stories like His to Protect which is an inspiring drama that happens to be written seductively. Her emotional radar has been spot on in my opinion since I discovered her books. His to Take is her latest novella that takes the reader on an entertaining ride. Erin and Warren are on the hunt for guilty pleasure that they can only find with each other. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. The story actually started off quite well and the game of truth or dare was a nice touch.

A KISS FROM KRINGLE  (FROSTY'S SNOWMEN #2) BY RHIAN CAHILL

Release Date:  December 8, 2015

SYNOPSIS

For a man called Chris Kringle, Christmas is the most magical time of the year.  But this year, there’s something about a certain elf that’s grabbed his attention in the best of ways.

Leah Ward didn’t start the day intending to be an elf in Santa’s Village, but to help her sister she’d do anything, including an impersonation and squeezing into a too-tight elf suit.  But Leah didn’t count on the boss discovering her deception – or that he’d be enchanted by it. She certainly didn’t count on Chris deciding all his future kisses would belong to her.

A firm believer in Christmas magic, Chris knows the sparks that fly when he meets Leah are the once-in-a-lifetime kind, and he sees no point in wasting any time. All he has to do is convince a soft-hearted cynic that all magic is real – and that Christmas magic is the most powerful of all.

REVIEW:  A KISS FROM KRINGLE  (FROSTY'S SNOWMEN #2) BY RHIAN CAHILL

A Kiss From Kringle (Frosty's Snowmen, #2)A Kiss From Kringle by Rhian Cahill

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The versatility of Ms. Cahill's novels are what has made me a fan. She writes stories that are brief, naughty and a little bit nice. A Kiss from Mr. Kringle in my opinion was not as sexually driven as previous books I have read by this author. Maybe that is what I liked most about it. The treat of getting the chance to fall in love little by little as I learned more about Chris and Leah. That made this read enjoyable for me. I received an ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review

CEDAR AND CINNAMON (THE BOURBON SPRINGS #5) BY JENNIFER BRAMSETH

Release Date:  December 8, 2015

SYNOPSIS

Welcome to the Land of Bourbon and Bluegrass...Welcome to Bourbon Springs, Kentucky...

Harriet Hensley usually enjoys the work that comes with being an attorney for Bourbon Springs’ most important business, Old Garnet Distillery. But when the distillery owners ask her to work on a crucial history project designed to burnish the distillery's application for National Historic Landmark status, Harriet isn’t excited. Her lack of enthusiasm isn't because she thinks the work will be dull. It’s because of the guy with whom she’s going to have to work.

Goose Davenport, a cousin of the distillery owners and now an important employee at Old Garnet, has been known for years as the local hothead, the crazy guy who seemed to hide behind his father’s badge—the late former Craig County Sheriff Fuzzy Davenport. Yet a few years earlier, Harriet, the local Little-Miss-Perfect and former Miss BourbonDaze, had a taste of that wild side of the man—and found she liked it quite a bit. But despite their mutual attraction, fate denied them the chance to see what happened next, and they kept the fact of their encounter—and feelings—to themselves.

Working with Goose presents new professional, personal, and legal challenges, and feelings suppressed for years boil to the surface. He’s enchanted by the woman he never thought he’d attain, and she’s delighted to learn about Goose’s softer side—as well as his deep knowledge and love of Old Garnet which astounds her.

Yet within that knowledge is buried a deep vein of resentment that stretches back nearly a hundred years, far back into the history of the brand and family. This lingering bitterness threatens not only Harriet and Goose’s new love, but Old Garnet itself.

CEDAR AND CINNAMON is the fifth book in the Bourbon Springs Series, a nine-book series of smooth, sensual, sexy, slow-burn contemporary romances set amidst the lush and rolling Land of Bourbon and Bluegrass of central Kentucky.

The sixth Bourbon Springs book, DISTILLED HEAT, will be released in winter 2016.

REVIEW:  CEDAR AND CINNAMON (THE BOURBON SPRINGS #5) BY JENNIFER BRAMSETH

Cedar and Cinnamon (Bourbon Springs, #5)Cedar and Cinnamon by Jennifer Bramseth

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am going to go out on a limb here and say this is the little series that could. The Bourbon Springs saga is a great one that not many are getting the chance to experience. This is a series that should not be missed. I received an ARC of Cedar and Cinnamon in exchange for my honest opinion. This particular story is about not letting personal opinions overshadow first hand knowledge. Goose is trying to convince others that he is not the same person they used to know. That proves difficult when you live in a place where everyone knows your name and remembers your reputation. Harriet is not about to be caught up in the whirlwind that is Goose again. Been there, done that and have the marks to prove it. But what is that saying? "Never say Never." This is the best read of the series yet and it pains me that not many retailers are carrying this wonderful series. Jennifer Bramseth's characters are written with her whole heart from start to finish.

REVIEW:  REASON TO WED (DISTINGUISHED ROGUES # 7) BY HEATHER BOYD

Reason to Wed (The Distinguished Rogues #7)Reason to Wed by Heather Boyd

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Distinguished Rogues series came to my attention through Chills (Book #1) when it was a perma free at the beginning of the year. I thought it was adorable how this slip of a woman brought this forceful cold hearted man to his knees. From that first book I was hooked on Heather Boyd as an author. I requested a copy of Reason to Wed from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Reason to Wed is a story of two people that have faced their share of heartbreak but deeply desire the chance to be happy. I believe that is why I enjoy reading Ms. Boyd. She gets right to the heart of any story and captivates her readers with every tale.

REVIEW: THE BILLIONAIRE HEARTBREAKER BY MANDY BAXTER

The Billionaire HeartbreakerThe Billionaire Heartbreaker by Mandy Baxter

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

To Reily Martin image is everything. She takes pride in being the best at what she does. For Travis Christensen freedom of expression is how he lives his life. His individuality may have gotten him in over his head at times but he's had some fun along the way. I received an ARC of The Billionaire Heartbreaker by Mandy Baxter in exchange for an honest review. The contrast between the two main characters was what made the story appealing to me. Life of the party Travis being forced to work with uptight, regimented Reily started out as irritating for both of them. Neither saw the personality flaw in themselves. As they got to know each other is when the epiphanies started. Reily needed to learn how to relax and enjoy her self more. Travis needed to learn how to control himself and not let the good times interfere with his responsibilities. The moral of this story is it's okay to be yourself but sometimes change can lead to a better you. What I enjoy about the Christensen brothers is that they are all different but love proves their unifying force.

REVIEWTHE FINAL MOVE (HOMETOWN PLAYERS #3)  BY VICTORIA DENAULT

The Final Move (Hometown Players, #3)The Final Move by Victoria Denault

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Victoria Denault takes a complicated relationship and creates a story of shelter, heartbreak and true love. I was first introduced into this world of hot men and the women who love them through Making a Play. I am not a hockey fan and that was almost a draw back for me but the concept of the story was so amazing I was caught up in it all. Ms. Denault creates a world full of characters that are big names in the sport of hockey but when needed know they can return to the place that started it all. Home. The understanding and experiences gained in the most vulnerable of places helps center these strong men and along the way leads to a little self-discovery and healing. These books are love stories but they are also inspiring life lessons. I received an ARC of The Final Move by Victoria Denault in exchange for an honest review.
