There is nothing more passionate than ego, blackmail and competition. Alexandra and Eli found that out first hand. Despite a contentious relationship they can't keep their hands or thoughts to themselves. I liked Alexandra. She spoke her mind, stuck to her beliefs and loved her family. Eli took a while to grow on me. As I got to know him more, I started to realize that he kept his guard up to protect himself from the traumatic blow he was dealt as a child. Kate Meader picked the perfect name for a battle of will, heart and dominance. Playing with Fire lives up to it's name. Received an ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

Connor and Faith had a number of strikes against them. Connor is dealing with the aftermath of returning home after years in the service. Faith is reeling from a bad breakup. The one thing Connor has learned from enduring four years in a war zone fighting for his life, is that life is short. So nothing is going to stop him from getting what he wants. I liked Connor, he has a take charge personality but a fragile heart. Faith was more of a lost soul that needed to find its way. Jessica Lemmon has written the most wonderful holiday story. A Bad Boy for Christmas is about appreciating what's important and not sweating the little things. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Don't know what to say without giving too much of the story away. Doing It for Love by Cassie Mae is a riotous story. When the sparks have past and the thrill is gone, don't give up but soldier on. This story had me laughing so hard. With Liz and Landon's story, Ms. Mae has come up with an original and innovative read. It leaves a lasting impression. The interpretation revolves around the reader's own perception. The sexiest stories don't have to be the most obvious ones. I received an ARC of Doing it for Love in exchange for an honest review.

Gracie and James are opposites. He has to think everything through, weigh the options and act according. Gracie is impetuous, self reliant and her spirited personality has caused heated exchanges between her and responsible James. The saying: where there's smoke, there's fire applies to them. That fire leads to an inferno. The combustible energy between these two leaps off the page and scorches the reader. Jennifer Dawson has written a story with sex appeal that gets better ever page. The heart wants what it wants is an adage that fits this story perfectly. Fiona left home with a broken heart in need of a fresh start. Sick of living in her sisters shadow and pining for the boy she would never have. Years later she returns and realizes nothing has changed. The reasons she left still exist. Snowflake Bay is a romance that entails more than just a relationship that was never given a chance to flourish. It is a look at the relationship between two sisters. A beautiful story that is full of heart and is a wonderful holiday read.

What I like most about Kimberly Kincaid's novels is that the characters are all human. What I mean is they struggle with flaws that we all have and many are misunderstood, but they are willing to do all that is required to succeed in the quest for happiness. In the instance of Nick, I was heartbroken. He is a good person that made some questionable choices. What I had an issue with was the apathy he received despite turning his life around. Ava was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. All Wrapped Up is story that needed to be told. It is full of heartache, wisdom, redemption, acceptance, love and devotion. I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review. I will be reading it again in the future.

Another new author to add to my collection. Thanks NetGalley. Breaking A Legend is a sultry look at the struggles to start over. Rory has to face a career ending injury and Clare is running away from her past and focusing on her future. Sarah Robinson did a beautiful job of luring the reader in to the world of MMA. I also liked how she allows the reader to follow the story through each characters mindset in their own words, from their point of view. That was a nice touch. Great start to the Kavanagh series. One event, five authors, five well written stories of hope, second chances, surprises and enchanting adventures. The round robin concept is a great idea because it gives each writer the chance to put their own spin or voice to the read. Loved and would recommend this charming collection. A Wedding in Truhart was an enjoyable and special read for me. I actually live in Michigan so although a fictional story it was nice to learn about locations and landmarks that I may not have known about. It took a little time for me to warm up to the story. Issues with pacing had a hand in that. Once further into the novel, I started to find it delightful. Annie had a lot to deal with. A tinge of jealously, falling in love and the crazy theatrics of her family. A wedding was the perfect setting. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Despite some glitches, I ended up really liking this story.

Have not come across a twin swapping story since I was a teen reading Sweet Valley High. Cat and Chloe may be sisters but that is where the connection ends. Cat is responsible, serious and level headed. Chloe is a selfish, rude, bratty attention seeker. Cat is out of her element. Working and living in her sister's shadow is not something she enjoys. Snowbound at Christmas is an adventure inside a story. There are twists around every corner, revealing secrets and interesting characters to follow along the way. There are references to the Christmas season but Debbie Mason has written a story that can be enjoyed all year round. I received an ARC of Snowbound at Christmas in exchange for an honest review.

Looking for emotional. Evergreen Springs is definitely that. I felt so many things while reading this story. Compassion for all the pain Cole and his children were going through. Proud that Devin was a worthy female character determined enough to do battle with Cole. Lastly, Hope. The belief in miracles and having faith that good or bad things happen for a reason. I am addicted to holiday movies, reads and programming. Every year I look forward to February and December(the best times of year to feed my addiction.). Christmas in Mustang Creek brought the magic, romance and good feelings a couple of months early. Linda Lael Miller has provided an outlet of escapism that is a fairy tale come to life. Charlotte is in the doldrums and feeling sorry for herself. A trip home may be just the remedy to lift her spirits. The Hallmark card setting, the feeling of traditional values and love, the mystery in the air and lastly the beautiful romance made this story a dream to read. Was sad to see it end. A Knight's Bridge Christmas had some good points. It also had some not so good ones. I did not look at this as a love story. It was more a look at the phases of life and the wisdom gained from living it.
Good
1. The concept of the story was thought provoking and heartwarming.
2. Life passes quickly, don't let it pass you by.- Smart to take two characters one starting over and one needing to slow down and bringing them together in a small town. Add in the changes they contend with and Logan's grandmothers transitions and wisdom. Interesting contrast.
Bad
1. Slow moving.- Many times throughout the story it stalled and struggled to get back on track.
2. Too much in depth info.- Over explaining characters and situations made the story too long and stagnate.

Jonny and Madeline learned the wisdom of the old adage "don't judge a book by it's cover". The heart is the one true window to a person's soul. Marry Me at Christmas was a no brainer for me. Once the main characters let their inner light shine, it was easy to see that there was something worth exploring. The outer package may have been a little off putting but the wants, hopes and dreams each had were similar. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
