REVIEW:  CLAIMING HER (RENEGADES & OUTLAWS) BY KRIS KENNEDY

Claiming HerClaiming Her by Kris Kennedy

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Stories like Claiming Her stir up a mixture of emotions. What must it have been like for a woman during this time. Medieval describes the views, moral standings and rights perfectly. I don't know whether to be speechless or angry. For a woman doing this time, life was not easy. Doesn't seem like they were treated any better than a piece of property to be conquered or given away. That is a disturbing concept. Ms. Kennedy broke the mold when she thought up firecracker Katarina. Strictures do not stop her from protecting her lands at any cost. Aodh represents her loss of independence and she will not give up without a fight. Let's be honest Aodh was a jerk most of the time but he did have some redeeming qualities (sort of). He was loyal to his men, capable of deep emotion and he wasn't bad on the eyes. Claiming Her is a story of courage, loyalty and tempestuous uprising but beneath the business and the archaic views is a love story that is a satisfying breath of fresh air.
